We Count on Your Support!

Thank you for supporting Bartholomew County's D.A.R.E. program.  Recognizing that education is the key to overcoming the increasing problem of drugs in our community, your local school and law enforcement leaders have made an enormous commitment to D.A.R.E.  But without your support we could not succeed.

The D.A.R.E. program's materials and activities are not funded by tax dollars. While Columbus and Bartholomew County supply trained police officers to deliver the program, the operational funding comes strictly from your donations. Your generosity to D.A.R.E. helps us continue and strengthen our efforts to educate kids & their parents!

For more information on how you can help BCDARE please contact CPD D.A.R.E. Coordinator Sgt. Matt Harris at 812) 376-2639, or BCDARE treasurer, Lt. Alan Trisler, (812) 376-2668, or email dharris@columbuspd.com.

D.A.R.E. License Plate

You can support the D.A.R.E. program in Columbus and Bartholomew County by asking for a special D.A.R.E. license plate when you renew your vehicle registration. D.A.R.E. motorcycle plates are available starting in 2007! Proceeds benefit both D.A.R.E. Indiana and BCDARE. This is a great way to show your support for D.A.R.E.

Unlike some other specialty plates, you DO NOT NEED special authoriation to get this plate. You can just walk into the license branch and ask for one.

For more information on specialty license plates, visit the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles web site. Columbus license branch: (812) 379-9323.
